So, tonight when Sophie went to take her clothes to her room to put them in the dirty clothes hamper she came back crying. Apparently she couldn't find more guys to put in the shower. Anneka was able to locate 3 more so all was well.
That makes 34 guys now in the shower. We'll have to adios a couple of them so that tomorrow she'll have some available to bring back in.
Funny thing is she doesn't really even play with them. She mostly plays with the cars. She's got two ambulances in there, a couple of mail trucks and some other cars. She drives them around on the tile pretending the tiles are like roads since she drives the car straight and only turns corners when she's aligned over one.

A "showah"
I don't add to the blog often. Usually only when we're on vacation. So, I don't exactly know what is inspiring me to add this.
Sophie is a "showerer" and doesn't ever really take a tub. That's fine by us. We kill two birds with one stone that way. Anyways, she loves to play with her "guys" in the "showah" as she calls it. Every couple of days we have to empty the shower out. This picture probably illustrates why. It's a proverbial sea of guys and cars on the floor.
Interestingly you can tell which side is Sophie's side and which side is mine... I've taught her to, "run, quick like a fox" and put her dirty clothes in the clothes hamper in her room. Invariably before she comes back she grabs a couple more guys to add to those already in the shower.
And, we can tell she's getting older and smarter. She likes to be bundled in a towel when she gets out so she doesn't get cold. She also finally figured out that sitting on the tile step after her diaper is off is numbing. So, she doesn't do that any more.
That was posted yesterday the 30th of March. This morning, the 31st, on her way back from putting her pj's in the dirty clothes hamper Little Miss Sophie brought 5 more guys... I think there's 31 in there now.

Sunday Happenings
Sophie wearing her new spring dress.
Baking - I've been wanting to try making more artisan breads so today I tried to make Baguettes, they turned out pretty good, as good as you can buy in the grocery store but not as good as the French make them.
More baking... made banana bread
I'm a sucker for kitchen stuff. I got the spring catalog for Williams Sanoma last week and they had featured these Ebelskiver pans that make filled pancakes. So after dinner for dessert I made various Ebelskivers and filled them with spiced apples, chocolate ganache and strawberry jam. I think the strawberry jam was my favorite. You can put anything sweet or savory in them. I think raspberry jam would be really good. Will keep trying different varieties.
and while on the subject of baking, I found a "Teddy Lion" cake pan I'm going to make Sophie's 2 year Birthday cake out of. Here is what I'm going to attempt to make it look like. I thought it was way cute.

Moab - Part 2
Moab - Part 1
Last weekend we were in Moab. I ran the 1/2 Marathon on Saturday and we went to Arches on Sunday. Here are some pictures:
Sophie playing at the park while waiting for Mom to show up at the finish line
Some race photos, it was so cold at the start high 20's and only 40 degrees at the finish, I had to tie all my warm ups around my waist as they didn't let you drop clothing along the race unless you wanted it given to charity.
Starting our hike up to Delicate Arch. Sunday morning was also chilly low 40's but it warmed up throughout the day.
More soon...

Big Girl
Chinese New Year
Our friends who lived in Singapore last year invited us over for a Chinese New Year celebration on Valentines day.
Everyone had to join in tossing the salad with our chopsticks, I guess it's a Chinese tradition
Sophie and Chris wearing their Chinese hats and Sophie's holding her money packet our friends gave her. It had a lucky $8.88 in it.
Sophie's giving her buddy Jack a tight squeeze goodbye.
