Cheepies

Sophie has been excited for Easter as she sees all the eggs and fun Easter things at the store. She's been asking me to color eggs for several days now and I've been trying to hold off until we get closer to Easter. It's been snowing and cold everyday now for almost a week so we needed something to do. I saw these little bean bag chicks in my Martha Stewart magazine and decided we could make those. Soph was excited about it too and helped me fill them using lentils. She then colored her 2 "cheepies" as she called them. Here's our finished product. You can see her face is getting better too from all the scratches.

Rough Week

We'd been trying to get Sophie off of having a bottle of milk each night before bed. It was a rough few nights of lots of crying and little sleep. One day I read online about a suggestion of having the kids give their bottles away to a needy baby. We just had a new baby niece born so I asked Sophie if she wanted to give her bottles to baby Chloe. She said she did so I had her take all the bottles out of the cupboard and put them in a shopping bag, then when Chris got home from work we drove down to Provo to visit baby Chloe and give her Sophies bottles. Soph even took them out of the bag and placed them by baby Chloe. Then to reward her for giving her bottles away we went out to dinner and stopped at Target on the way home to pick out a toy. That night she made no fuss about not having a bottle and hasn't cried about it since. It's been nice to catch up on our sleep too. Sometimes she will talk about giving her bottles away to baby Chloe.

The next day we came home from the grocery store and she wanted to play outside so I told her she could for a few minutes. As I was carrying in groceries I heard her cry. Poor Soph had fallen down face first into our trimmed ornamental grasses which are hard sticks since they are dormant from winter. It cut her face up pretty bad, luckily the sticks didn't poke her eye but just missed it. She calmed down after a minute but was more upset that she thought she couldn't play outside anymore, I told her she could still play outside and she perked right up and headed out again.

Here are some pictures of her fall (the day after with lots of neosporin on her) and her new toys she picked out at Target. (She loves cars the movie and has been collecting all the car characters)

Car Show

Chris took Sophie to the Autorama car show since his Shiny car was on display. They also met up with our friends Jeff & the kids. Sophie loved holding Jack and Henry's hand.

St George

A few weeks ago we went down to St. George to see the parade of homes and spent the weekend with Dad & Sheryl and Wendy, Val & Baby Van. One afternoon, Sophie and I went over to Snow Canyon for a little hike. We only had about 2 hours before the sun went down so we hiked the Petrified Dunes. Soph did so good, we hiked all over the rock formations for about an hour and she walked the whole way. She's my little hiker girl. She loved picking up rocks and throwing them in the puddles of water along the way as well as playing in the red sand.

These pictures are all from the parking lot as I forgot to take my camera on the hike. Oh well. You can still see the pretty red rock.

Trip to the Farm

We had a fairly nice day a few weeks ago where it was a balmy 50 degrees out so I took Sophie to visit the Farm at Thanksgiving point. She loved all the animals.

Visiting the Goats

She loved this Cow seat

She got put in the jail house

Lots of Chickens

She loved the pony ride

Visiting the cows

This cow started eating her jacket

Here she's telling a story about all the things going on in this barn

After visiting the animals I took her over to the deli and we split an ice cream cone. It was a quick visit but we had fun.
