Rough Week

We'd been trying to get Sophie off of having a bottle of milk each night before bed. It was a rough few nights of lots of crying and little sleep. One day I read online about a suggestion of having the kids give their bottles away to a needy baby. We just had a new baby niece born so I asked Sophie if she wanted to give her bottles to baby Chloe. She said she did so I had her take all the bottles out of the cupboard and put them in a shopping bag, then when Chris got home from work we drove down to Provo to visit baby Chloe and give her Sophies bottles. Soph even took them out of the bag and placed them by baby Chloe. Then to reward her for giving her bottles away we went out to dinner and stopped at Target on the way home to pick out a toy. That night she made no fuss about not having a bottle and hasn't cried about it since. It's been nice to catch up on our sleep too. Sometimes she will talk about giving her bottles away to baby Chloe.

The next day we came home from the grocery store and she wanted to play outside so I told her she could for a few minutes. As I was carrying in groceries I heard her cry. Poor Soph had fallen down face first into our trimmed ornamental grasses which are hard sticks since they are dormant from winter. It cut her face up pretty bad, luckily the sticks didn't poke her eye but just missed it. She calmed down after a minute but was more upset that she thought she couldn't play outside anymore, I told her she could still play outside and she perked right up and headed out again.

Here are some pictures of her fall (the day after with lots of neosporin on her) and her new toys she picked out at Target. (She loves cars the movie and has been collecting all the car characters)
