Today we headed back up the Lauterbrunnen valley to do a hike. We decided to hike from Mannlichen to Kleine Scheidegg which is about 2.5 miles and an easy stroll along the ridge as our guidebook says. We parked at the Lauterbrunnen train station and hopped on the cog wheel train up to Wengen.
Soph and I checking out our hiking map.

Heading up to Wengen
Climbing some more
Wengen train station
In Wengen we stopped at a store to pick up some picnic lunch stuff then got on a tram that took us to the top of Mannlichen.
Looking down where we started
First we hiked to a little peak with 360 degree views of the area
At the top of the peak we stopped for a snack
These fences were everywhere for avalanche control

Enjoying the wild flowers
Back down to the lift station. Of course there was a park to play at

A little storm blew in as we were hanging out at the park near the lift station. We went inside a restaurant and waited for about 30 minutes for it to blow out. We also snacked on some french fries while we waited.

The storm passed we headed out on our hike to Klein Scheidegg. Sophie started getting sleepy.
Views from our hike
About 20 minutes into the hike she fell asleep
Views of the Eiger, Monch & Jungfrau peaks
The clouds were rolling in and out so fast some times we had views of the peaks for only a few seconds at a time.
Soph woke up the last 15 minutes of the hike
Picking wild flowers
Our first sign of civilization after hiking about 2 hours
And there was a park there too
From Klein Scheidegg we took the cog wheel train back down to the valley
We had a quick stopover in Wengen again where we picked up a popsicle
It was dinner time when we got back to the train station and our car. We drove into Interlaken and wandered around the city a bit to find dinner. Chris had a good batch of Rosti (hash browns with bacon)
